Brunch o'clock

If you haven't heard about the Breakfast club....then where have you been!?
This quirky London cafe has all the vibes of a downtown Manhattan hot spot.
The walls are covered in receipts, album covers and rock and pop memorabilia from the 80's.
But finding a rather weathered wooded table at lunch time is not easy. Be prepared to queue outside! Yes, you heard me right. Londoners will queue come rain or shine just to see what all the fuss is about. But I can tell you now, it is definitely worth it.

Breakfasts and brunch take centre stage, especially the pancakes...which in case you wondered, are divine and definitely something not to be missed.
The food ranges from big American breakfasts to sandwiches, salads and smoothies. So even if you don't feel like indulging too much, I'm sure you can find something to feed any appetite.
Here's what we had:

Pancakes with Bacon and Maple Syrup                                    Pancakes with Berries and Maple Syrup

The cream on the berry pancakes was unlike anything I had tasted before: It was amazing.
Almost like double cream but sweetened with the most amazing creamy vanilla flavour.
Can you tell I liked it?

You can find them in Soho, Angel, Hoxton, Clapham, Spitalfields and apparently they are opening one in London Bridge.

Here's the website
They even do takeaway!

Yes I know it's expensive but I wouldn't have pancakes every day for breakfast so for me, it's a nice treat once in a while.
I promise you won't be disappointed.

Fast Food on another level...

Today I met some friends that I trained with for a quick lunch.

One of the girls suggested a place called Vapiano’s.  It's fast food but on a whole new level.
The place is full to brim with business people, families having lunch and just general hungry people.

It’s already a huge success in Germany and America so naturally the franchise has spread across the world.

Vapiano’s idea of service is that there isn't one. Upon your entrance you are given a card (I call it the Oyster card). You then head over to the various counters; pizza, pasta, salad and order what you wish. See what I mean by fast food.
The chefs then cook your order right in front of you. I ordered a Tonno pizza....tuna, onions and peppers. Very yummy. At the end you just take your card to a station and pay...seems easy enough.

It gets quite busy during the lunch hour so be prepared to wait a little while for your food (but they do cook it right in front of you).
Find a wooden bench or a corner with some comfy looking red sofa's and tuck in. Making sure you help yourself to the rosemary and basil plants on the end of your benches.

What I loved about Vapiano’s was whether you wanted a quick lunch, or a leisurely dinner it catered for all sorts; as long as you’re willing to pick up a tray and get into the spirit of things. I thought it was a refreshing change from normal day to day restaurants and coffee shops.

So next time you are in Oxford Circus, check them out.

Maybe I'll see you there.
